Let me start this blog by telling you that my wife while she is my better half, the rock that keeps me grounded and my best friend doesn't really put her two cents into Wicked Carnival Productions, my writing or anything really to do with my movies. She cares about my career and wants me to succeed but she doesn't really talk about it or add in her thoughts unless I ask her what she thinks hell she never even read one of my scripts.
We were having breakfast this morning and I was checking / returning e-mails, tweets, facebook messages etc. we were talking about the script for Wicked Carnival and why I didn't try to make that movie before I made Sins of Man Rise of Mortis.
I explained to her that Wicked Carnival the way it was written would cost $100,000 dollars to make with all the props and locations that would be needed and I simply couldn't raise that kind of money with out a hollywood star to put on promotional posters etc. I didn't and still don't have the clout to get that type of backing I want to make Wicked Carnival so badly but I'm still in a place where I don't want to change it to cut costs where the entire story has to change due to cutting costs.
So we go back to eating and she looks up from her meal and says "why don't you do a mash up of the Wicked Carnival script with Sins of Man III", do you think it could work ?
I look across the table at her with a smile and said "yes it could work but they are different stories and not sure I want to change Wicked Carnival into Sins of Man III because I have some really cool stuff planned for Wicked Carnival".
She said "could you do it for less then $100,000 if you made Sins of Man III Wicked Carnival" ? I said "yes" and she said "It's something to think about" and damn it I've been thinking about it all damn day !!
I think Wicked Carnival is alot more violent and the killer is completely different then Mortis. I think I will stick with making Wicked Carnival between Sins of Man II and III.
would love to hear from fans on this e-mail me or comment on this blog .
UPDATE : After careful consideration I have decided that Wicked Carnival will be a different film (Possible series) from the Sins of Man trilogy. I think although they are similar in many ways (as most slashers are) I think there are enough differences where it wouldn't do either franchise justice to do a cross over.
