When I started this project I had a clear idea of what I wanted it to be, a way to honor my brother forever. I knew I wanted to do this project and I was and am willing to put myself through hell to make this project happen and work the way I want it to. I started doing Tai CHi, DDP Yoga and walking like a madman to get into better shape for this project. I've said many times I'm not an actor but something about this project and this role has me wanting to step in front of the camera and play this role that I feel will define my career not only on screen but behind the scenes as well as I'm writing the hell out of this project.
I've started learning fight choreography and how to use weapons in a fight scene. I'm into this project and this role 110%. Learning to fight is something that is alot harder then it looks but it's also alot of fun. I'm looking into boxing as another fighting style to bring into the series. I want to have a wide knowledge of fighting styles when this project kicks off and not just be punching and kicking around.
When I started writing the action / fight scenes I found myself writing alot of the same moves and combos and the last thing I want to do is make the fights the same thing repeating it's self for 15 episodes. That's the reason I want to learn alittle bit of a few different styles of fighting to mix it up. I wrestled for 25 years, I'm learning Tai Chi and I'll pick up some boxing so that's three different skill sets I can bring to fight scenes.
I had six of the episodes written and ready to go and then I decided to change a few things about the main character and that in turn changed things about a few of the other characters so it was back to the starting line. This isn't anything new any writer will tell you that there are many restarts, false starts and rewrites on every project.
I restarted last weekend after I wrote out each character description and made the changes I wanted to make to them I started writing outlines episode by episode and I'm in the middle of writing the outline for the Season finale of the project.
When I started writing the project from day one I knew exactly where I wanted to go from beginning to end it was just finding the best / most interesting way to get there and I think I have. Physically mentally, emotionally I'm invested in this project, this role and this series. I feel this role is the one that I've been waiting for for a long time.
Alittle About The Project : This will be a 15 week web series it's going to be an action / drama series with alot of action and cool fight scenes intertwined with a compelling story made up of cool characters that you will either lover and root for or hate and want to see get their asses kicked!
Stay Humble, Stay Hungry My Friends :)
