My days when I'm not on set or working o promotional material for my latest project are spent watching horror movies and taking notes on cool kills that I can tweak and make my own.
I was out with my wife yesterday and we were with a group of people when someone asked me what I do for work and without missing a beat I answered "I sit in my office and thing of creative ways to kill people." I'll tell you what that gets a lot of weird looks when you say it in a group of people.
I think writing good, well thought out kills is a very important part of a horror movie, don't you? I think I'm going to start a note book just for writing out death scenes sort of like a data base to draw from when writing a project. I think that would be a very useful tool to have at my disposal.
Keep in mind that thinking up cool, creative ways to kill people isn't the only think I do on a daily basis, I also run two websites, four twitter accounts, five Facebook pages and four e-mail accounts so I'm always working on something that's for sure.
People seem to think that you have to be "crazy" or have a "screw loose" to write horror movies and I don't think that's the case at all, I'm just a very creative person who has the mental ability to take things that extra step further that many folks can't take because they don't like the stigma of being labelled a "weirdo", "freak" "Gore whore" what ever term you want to slap on there it's fine with me.
i love creating scary stories with well thought out characters, plots, kills and a good motive for the killer to be dong the evil things he's doing to the seemingly innocent victims. One thing I also enjoy is the "basic horror tropes" that we all know, love and sometimes hate. These are the tings that horror was built on and while they are annoying to some of us I think deep down if they weren't in the movies we watch we would feel like something was missing from the viewing experience, I feel that way.
So yes I do sit in my office and think of creative ways to kill people and I'm okay wit this because I get to lie my dream and work in m dream job which is something that I never thought would happen. We continue shooting "The Vengeful One" on November 4th and wrap shooting o November 12th. Details o a release date and were you can watch the movie will be forth coming, I'm still working on getting the details ironed out . Oh that gives me an idea for a cool kill ...... Stay Tuned folks !
