Note : This is how I looked at things as a boy .
We are taught to believe that an unknown entity "God" gave a child to Mary without having sex. yet later in life we are taught in health class (8th or 9th grade) that to create a baby we have to have sex or at least exchange bodily fluids between a man and a woman, does that Entity giving the virgin Mary a baby still add up ?
Note : The more I thought about this the less sense it made to me .
The baby that was given to the virgin Mary is named Jesus and is the son of God, what the fuck kind of logic is this? We learned in health class that people have to have sex to create babies but an entity can just impregnate anyone it wants whenever it wants, seriously ?
Note : Again I question the logic behind this train of thought, and I started to think am I the only one ?
As I was growing up and had questions about the story of Jesus I would ask my Pastor and he would give me the same horse shit answer of "You have to have faith" every time I would question the faith. Faith in what ? The idea that a ghost (For a lack of a better time) gave a child to the virgin Mary and when the baby was born he was the son of God ??
Note : This is a Pastor talking to a young teenage boy at the time .
Later in life after seeing the Star Wars films and then the prequel trilogy I started thinking about The Force and what it is and what is represents and I'll tell you the fastest way to piss off a Pastor is telling him that you believe in The Force.
Note : Never do this during a service .
Before you all attack me and my beliefs hear me out . The Force is what binds the universe together, it's surrounds us, it's inside us it's all around us, it's in every living creature . I've often said that Star Wars is the most religious movie without mentioning God or the Devil . Think about this The Force is split into two sides the light side and the dark side, right ? The light side being the good people (God) the dark side being the bad people (The Devil) There isn't much difference in The Force and Christianity it all boils down to having faith in what you believe in. Christians believe in God and that Jesus died on the cross for their sins I believe that everything in the world is controlled by the Force .
After the loss of Thomas Dicks the man I called Dad who raised me from the age of 8 on my faith in God was gone, I was 26 lost and looking for something to believe in . I couldn't believe that God would take my best friend away from me just a few years after I became a father for the first time . I was lost and wondering in this world and there were times I would question who I was and what I was doing with my life .
Note : These are my beliefs and I don't force them on anyone and I expect the same from others as it relates to their beliefs .
Now you may be asking which side of the Force I'm on and I have to say that I'm in that small area between the light and dark sides the gray area, I firmly believe that all is as the Force wills it to be and I shouldn't worry about the things in this world that are beyond my control because the Force knows what it's doing .
I hope no one takes offense to what I'm saying in this blog . I'm just saying that ever sense I decided that The Force has control over everything that happens in this world I've been much happier. I've been much more friendly, more open to people and I've started to see things much more differently then I ever did before . I wavered in my faith with God and Christianity and the belief in the Force until I got a call from my mother on April 16th 2016 that my brother had passed away . I learned that he had requested a Jedi Funeral (aside from the burning of the body during the service) he was cremated and I was asked to deliver the eulogy so as I started to research what I would say and something amazing happened I started to see the Force for what it is and my belief in it grew stronger everyday .
During the service for my brother as I read the words of Master Qui-Gon Jinn, Master Yoga and Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and was able to do it without crying I felt the Force become solid with in me and I used the Force to get through the rest of the service .
Some people may think it's weird for people to believe in something that came from a Hollywood movie but millions of children believe in Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny, The Tooth Fairy etc. Millions of people believe in God and Jesus and guess what millions of people believe in the Force . No one is right or wrong it's all about what you have faith in .
Note : I'm not saying that I carry a light saber or can lift things with my mind or anything like that .
I can say with a clear mind that I don't care if you're Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Muslim or A follower of the church of The Force as long as you have faith in something that's what I'm passionate about is people having faith in something .
Again I'm not attacking anyone I support anyone who has faith in something and if our views are different I can live with that . For the folks that say "You can't prove the Force is real" . All I can say is You can't prove God is real either, people site the bible as proof that Jesus existed / exists well there have been countless books written about Star Wars, The Book of The Jedi and The Book of the Sith to name two so that's not really a good arguing point either so were at at stand still once again .
When something bad happens in the world I say to myself "All is as the Force wills it to be" and I move on, it sounds weird or childish but I'll tell you something ever since I started looking at things from this point of view I get over things alot quicker and I don't get as angry as I used to . There are millions of things in this world that are beyond our control and we just have to trust in whatever we believe in that all will be okay .
Now as for those folks that don't believe in anything they can't see well aren't all religions based on things we can't see ?? God, The Force we can't see them but we believe they exist so they must, right ? This is just something I've been thinking about alot lately and wanted to give my thoughts on the subject . Again I mean no disrespect to anyone that believes in their religion of choice and hope you don't take offense because that was never the intention of this blog .
May The Force Be With You . Always .
