I hope you enjoy this blog and can understand what I'm trying to say for a change . I will also be making an announcement soon about how Content will be coming onto the site in the future :)
I agreed to write and direct a science fiction film because my Executive Producer Chris Fyfe is a huge fan of the genre and I'm a fan as well but not as much as he is . Now you're probably asking yourself why would a horror writer / director agree to make a science fiction movie ? That's a great question .
The answer to that question is very simple because I believe in paying people back for helping me, Chris has helped me launch Wicked Carnival Productions, helped me release Sins of Man : Rise of Mortis and is helping me release Sins of Man II : Vengeance this October and Sins of Man III : Tribulations Next October .
I started working on an outline for the untitled science fiction and with in half an hour I had all the characters named, the story idea almost worked out and I knew who would be doing what in the movie . I was still struggling with the title of the movie which is something that has to work or the film might fall flat . So I decided on a title and shared it with Chris and liked it so the title has been decided .
I have to be honest with you writing science fiction is alot of fun because you can write basically anything you want and sort of explain it with out having to have it make a whole lot of sense to anyone and it leaves alot to the audiences imagination in terms of the meaning of things .
I won't go as far to say that writing science fiction is more enjoyable to write then horror but as easy has horror comes to me Science fiction comes just as easy to me and I think it's because I have a good grasp on story telling .(for the most part)
Note : When I started working on this sci fi project I had no idea what to write, who the characters would be, where the story would take place until I came up who and what the Main Character would be . Then everything seemed to fall into place and then it was off to the races with the story . .
One thing I want to bring to this project is fresh thoughts, fresh eyes and a youthful sense of desire to learn and put out a science fiction movie that will wow the audience, that will be easier said then done I know but I think with Chris and I working together we will come up with some cool things that fans will enjoy on top of an amazing story for you to enjoy :)
Note : It's always my goal to make a movie that the audience enjoys weather it's fresh and exciting or slasher that follows the same formula as other films but with this project I've got the same fire I had when I started writing Sins of Man .
I think what scares me most about making the leap to Science Fiction from Horror is that the fan base of Wicked Carnival Productions that I have worked so hard to build over the last 2+ years and that has supported us through the release of Sins of Man : Rise of Mortis and now the sequel Sins of Man II : Vengeance will be angry that I'm stepping out of the genre to tackle a Sci fi movie and thus not support any future horror movies Wicked Carnival Productions puts out in the future , I'm sure that sounds dumb to some people but these are issues that us indie film makers tackle or is it all in my head ??
This science fiction movie isn't set for release until 2020 but I'm so excited about it to the point where I might bump it up on the release schedule because I want to make this movie for fans worldwide, we'll see what happens after the Sins of Man trilogy wraps up next year .
Thank you all for your continued Support of Wicked Carnival Productions, and the Sins of Man franchise you are amazing fans for joining me on this crazy ride Stay tuned it's going to get a lot crazier folks !!
STAY HUMBLE, STAY HUNGRY MY FRIENDS :)
