I've been very blessed to have met some amazing people right away. My Producer / Cameraman / Business Partner Chris Fyfe being one of them and one thing we have talked about at length is always helping others when we can this is one of those times when a friend in the business needs help. This business is hard like I said earlier but on top of being hard this business tends to be expensive and costs add up quickly. I can't tell you how much my first two movies cost to make and we haven;t made a single penny from the DVD sales yet we are starting production on our third film The Vengeful One in October.
With all that being said I know in this business we are all competing for DVD / Blu Ray and Digital download dollars, Merch sales, Crowdfunding donations etc. I understand that's the nature of the beast. Competition is healthy in this or any other business, I truly believe that. However I think it's weird that everyone is so obsessed with success, selling a bunch of DVD's / Blu Rays, making a bunch of money and no so concerned with helping each other get better. I want to sell DVD's and grow my brand as much as everyone else but doesn't it make the business better if we help each other grow to become better writers, actors, makeup Artists etc. if we help each other it makes the business stronger by making us better film makers, Right?
My friend Alan Dillingham and his film The Diamond Den has been selected as a finalist in the Single Take Challenge in Sarasota, Florida and they need help to raise money to get a few of the cast members to Florida for the festival and that's where YOU and I come in !!
I want to see Alan, his cast and crew and this project be a HUGE success! Competition in this business is healthy it keeps us all wanting to improve by write better scripts, become better actors and make better movies. I want him to win at this festival because seeing him gain this success because it makes me want to get better and make a film that may challenge him at a festival in the future.
PLEASE DONATE TO The Diamond Den's GoFundMe Page HERE :
THANK YOU !!!!
