There have been many holiday themed horror movies My Bloody Valentine, Bloody New Year, April Fool's Day, Easter Bunny Kill, Kill, and one of my personal favorites Prom Night. I enjoy Prom Night 1980 but I usually watch the 2008 film with the same title. (not a remake just uses the same title)
So there is no shortage of these types of films to say the least. I think some of these films were put out to play off the success of the Halloween and Friday The 13th franchises and to some degree they were successful in doing that, right ?
I started thinking about Christmas themed horror movies like Black Christmas and Silent Night and ironically Silent Night Deadly Night was on Demand all month long I watched it on Christmas Eve. (hadn't watched it in a long time)
I started thinking about writing a Christmas themed slasher movie and with Krampus coming out a few weeks ago and doing well at the box office I thought maybe there is a place for Holiday Themed horror in today's market.
So I'm very early in development of my first holiday themed slasher film. I have characters and a a loose story outline that I'll be working on until I start writing the script, currently I don't have a title but one will pop into my head soon enough .
Horror can really be found in all different places and times of the year and I would like to bring a Christmas Slasher film to Wicked Carnival Productions in the next few years, I would lobe to hear from fans about this idea and if you have a like or dislike for these types of slasher films.
Stay Wicked My Friends !!
